Shamrock specializes in Rift and Quarter sawn flooring in Red and White Oak and in Walnut. The specialized process of cutting the wood perpendicular to the grain allows for a more uniform grain pattern in the wood. Quarter sawing produces a classic ribbon and flake grain pattern often desired in high-end homes and in prime up-scale buildings.
Shamrock produces both a Premium and 1 Common grade in our rift and quartered floors in Red and White Oak allowing each floor to be closely tailored to a specific look. Rift and quartered Walnut flooring is featured only in the Premium grade.. The grain pattern in Rift and Quartered cut also makes it a sturdier and more durable wood. Not only does the product tout consistency and beauty, but also strength.
