Unfinished Plank Flooring

Species Information

North American Hickory is a distinctive hardwood species with varied grain patterns and rich color tones ranging from reddish tan to brown. Through the centuries, Hickory has been known for its extreme hardness, and it has been used in crafting farm implements such as hand tools due to its strength and durability. These same valuable characteristics make Hickory flooring exceptionally long-lasting and sturdy, and Shamrock is one of few manufacturers that specialize in a pre-finished natural grade product.

Product Information

Pre-finished natural grade Hickory from The Shannon Collection includes the knots, burls, and streaks that give Hickory its distinctive look, while unique color variations occur not just from board to board but often within the same board. These variations contribute to the charm of both available Shannon Collection Hickory finishes: Kilkenny Hickory and Limerick Hickory.

Kilkenny is an Irish city known foremost for its exciting nightlife. The varying dark shades present in this Kilkenny Hickory finish are full of the same bold personality that the city exudes. A clear finish of this sturdy wood signifies the character of Limerick Hickory. The city of Limerick, from the Irish word for open ground, is considered a very imaginative city, and, like its namesake, this style of Hickory offers a multitude of possibilities for unique hardwood flooring.

Pre-finished Hickory from The Shannon Collection is easy to install and features a UV-cured, advanced aluminum oxide finish. This finish is more durable than conventional polyurethane finishes. We now have a 25 Year Finish Warranty on our Pre-finished products. Exclusions and limitations apply.

Suggested Applications

Pre-finished natural grade Hickory from The Shannon Collection can be used in both contemporary and traditional applications. Natural grade Hickory is used across the United States and Canada in Western hunting lodges and lake homes and is becoming increasingly popular on the West Coast. Its versatility is demonstrated by using either a single-width application that offers a slightly more contemporary look, or random 3'-4'-5'-6' installation resulting in a more traditional appearance. The Shannon Collection’s pre-finished natural grade Hickory is solid hardwood flooring; therefore, installation requires nailing or stapling flooring to a 3/4" minimum plywood subfloor.
